Hispanics of Today & Tomorrow
Supporting higher education in the Hispanic community of Emporia
Hispanics of Today & Tomorrow, HOTT, is an organization made up entirely of volunteers in Emporia who contribute their time to share the experiences of a vast number of cultures within our community and raise money for high school seniors in Emporia to continue their education.
For almost 30 years, HOTT has raised over $120,000 to award over 300 scholarships to high school seniors who expressed a need to help fund their educational pursuits and show interest in volunteering and giving back to the community. Scholarship recipients are celebrated at an annual banquet and invited into the organization to volunteer time at signature events like Cinco de Mayo, Hispanic Heritage Month, and Dia de los Muertos, which have come to be known and pull attendance from across the country.
HOTT also encourages younger students to run for our annual Cinco de Mayo Royalty and assist with fundraising for scholarships. Any age group is invited to participate in Raices Hispanas Grupo Folklorico, our folkloric dance group. The goal is preparing members of our community early, giving back to the community and to one other, and growing our contributions to the region.
